For the first time, UI’s academic disciplines have been ranked in the top five broad subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. In Indonesia, UI ranks first in three broad subjects: Arts & Humanities (=168 globally), Life Sciences & Medicine (=281 globally), and Social Sciences & Management (151 globally). These three broad subjects also made it into the Top 10 in the Southeast Asia region, ranking 6th, 10th, and 7th respectively. UI’s STEM disciplines follow not far behind, with Engineering & Technology placing 11th in Southeast Asia (=262 globally) and Natural Sciences making an impressive debut at 17th in Southeast Asia (451-500 globally).
